Dips Kitchen Atlanta Buckhead. Mobile dip truck

True story. At my wedding, I cared infinitely about the trio of dips I wanted on each table at the reception. More than my wedding cake or what we served for dinner to our guests. If only we had the new dip truck now circulating in Atlanta back in 2009. I would have hired them for my wedding. Perfection.

Dips Kitchen is a new mobile eatery roaming Atlanta offering a delicious curated selection of gourmet dips. Founder Jeff Scardino and beloved consulting Georgia chef Whitney Otawka, must have watched that famous Seinfeld episode about dips. The one when Puddy talks about “Why do dips have to be a snack? Why can’t it be a meal, you know?”

I wholeheartedly agree, Puddy.

Case in point: If you haven’t noticed my obsession with dips, check out my favorite game day dip recipe here. And my second favorite game day recipe here. Now, it seems I need to stalk a new dip truck.

For instance, while on vacation last week I took it upon myself to try all the crab dips I could find in Wrightsville Beach, right outside Wilmington, NC. If only I had known about the Low Country Shrimp Dip at Dips Kitchen, I would have been in heaven and brought some with me.

These freakin’ cutie-pie Dip Mobiles are now cruising around Buckhead neighborhoods and can be waved down by Atlantans like an ice cream truck for lunch or dinner. Additionally, there’s an app where locals can request a stop for delivery with no fee.

Throughout the metro Atlanta area, anyone looking for a dip-fix can order delivery from Dip Kitchen’s menu through apps like UberEats, DOORDASH and Postmates.

I’m thinking of opting for a party pack of four, six or eight party-sized dips for my next Saturday game day party. But I also can reserve one of the adorable pastel Dip Mobiles to park outside my house and make all my neighbors drool. Hmmm… decisions, decisions…

This is why I know that Scardino and I are kindred spirits: “When envisioning this business, I was inspired by my family’s tradition of our all-dip Christmas Eve dinner, where the entire meal consisted of dips, as they were everyone’s favorite part of the gathering,” said Scardino. “Dips Kitchen is a unique concept that reimagines these shareable dishes as a meal. We’re focused on implementing the latest themes in the food space from adopting a delivery-forward model to identifying the trendiest flavors and beyond.”

Can I just say to Scardino, I want to be invited to Christmas Eve dinner! Why did I never think of an all-dip holiday dinner? Jealous.

While I will eat Frito Lay French Onion dip from an aluminum can… I have to say I love that Dips Kitchen makes all their dips from scratch. And with the best locally sourced ingredients.

I am all about their Cracklin’ Pimento Cheese, as well as the Artichoke & Burrata. But I know their signatures like Creamy Hummus Dip and Slow Roasted Chicken Salad are faves, plus rotating seasonal dips. Additionally, every order is customizable with a choice of dippers including artisanal crackers, seasonal vegetables, potato chips, gluten free crackers and more. The entrepreneurs have a vegetable-heavy menu prioritizing sustainability and they also use 100% compostable containers. A bit better than my tacky, non-compostable Frito Lay aluminum can.
