handmade wood charcuterie boards

Grain Craft Creations is a bespoke woodworking outfit in Atlanta that makes beautiful wooden charcuterie boards and handmade furniture.

When I was a young magazine editor in Atlanta back in the oughts, I met PR guru Jamie Annarino. A spitfire redhead with boundless energy, Jamie would pitch me her clients over lunch and we’d laugh for hours. However, I never saw it coming that she would be making wood charcuterie boards by hand some day.

Back then, she was dating famous musicians or NFL athletes and was the life of the party. It’s tough not to like Jamie. Ask anyone who knows her.

Moreover, she has always been an upbeat, positive person and a true Renaissance woman. For instance, she gardens like a beast, is a photographer, cooks beautifully and has helped countless entrepreneurs get their messages out. Now she has her own small business in a vocation few women seem to attempt—woodworking.

While battling cancer, Jamie took up woodworking. She started Grain Craft Creations back in the fall of 2020 and is making wood charcuterie boards ($100-$300 depending on materials) and bespoke furniture for friends and family. On top of that, It’s National Small Business Week. I figured, there’s no better way to support her than to tell you a bit about her incredible work.

Jamie Annarino gets wood delivered to her house to make bespoke charcuterie boards and bespoke furniture.

A single mother, Jamie lives in Grant Park. If you drive through the area on a pretty day you may see her out in the yard cutting wood or planting things with her signature crimson red hair blowing in the wind or piled up on top of her head. As far as I’m concerned, she’s out there doing God’s work. Above all, she’s helping people enjoy charcuterie and display it beautifully.

And anyone who knows me, knows I love charcuterie. Her wood charcuterie boards are like nothing I’ve ever seen. They’re hefty. They have handles made of iron or leather straps. Similarly, they look like something a Southerner eats off of. Moreover, these aren’t for tiny charcuterie boards or diminutive eaters. They’re for serious meat and cheese fans, friends.

No two are alike and Jamie can even put your kid’s pictures on them if that’s of interest. Email her at jamie@graincraftwoodworking.com or DM her on her Facebook page here to commission your own handmade wood charcuterie board for your next soiree or one of these gorgeous bespoke tables.

While we’re at it, here are a few more of my favorite Southern small businesses if you’re interested in shopping and supporting them this week. And you can never go wrong with a Garland Bags out of Savannah! (Wink wink.)
